I’m a GP working in Parkhead in the East End of Glasgow. I have been part of the LMC for 3 years, and feel it is important to be involved while there are big changes taking place in family medicine. I am involved in a number of national and local groups promoting health and good clinical care- examples of this are the Deep End practices, House of Care and local education evening for primary care teams in the areas of heart disease and stroke.

I have been a full-time GP Partner in Castlemilk, Glasgow for 20 years. I am very passionate about a developed General Practice service being the foundation and indeed the necessity of a sustainable NHS in Scotland, for which it needs properly resourced and supported to attract and retain the enthusiasm of Primary Care doctors to lead and innovate as we move into an era of larger multidisciplinary teams and the challenges of increasing multimorbidity and to reduce the risk of secondary care being overwhelmed.

I have been a member of Glasgow LMC for 5 years and an Executive member for 2 years and recently have been representing the sub-committee in the Adult Vaccination Programmes across Glasgow.
